Operation Gratitude Prepares To Send Care Packages

Winter 2008-09

Operation Gratitude’s mission is simple: Lift the morale of U.S. soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines deployed far from home. Preparations are underway to ship 70,000 care packages to troops during the non-profit organization’s sixth annual holiday drive.

“As in the past, we will send Operation Gratitude care packages to every servicemember whose name we receive who is deployed in a hostile [area] or on naval ships at sea,” says founder Carolyn Blashek. Packages contain food, toiletries, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation.

Financial donations may be made online or by check. To donate online, go to www.opgratitude.com and look for the “How You Can Help” page. Checks should be made out and mailed to Operation Gratitude, 16444 Refugio Rd., Encino, Calif. 91436. Donations are tax deductible.
